Study after study show that ‘being in nature’ is good for us - mentally and physically. But ecotherapy isn’t just about doing therapy outside, or walking and talking – although it can include both of those things.
The ecotherapy I offer is a different way of experiencing the natural world: when we head outdoors, we can directly make contact with other kinds of beings, and find out what they might contribute to the session. Rather than nature simply being a soothing backdrop, I invite you to consider that the plants and creatures around us are in relationship with us - and that they might have wisdom and knowledge to share if we approach them with curiosity and respect.
As with any other session, when we’re outdoors I seek to meet you where you are. Sometimes this can simply mean having a conversation. But we also have the option to cast our attention wider, to take in what’s going on around us. Other times, it might feel right to approach the place and its inhabitants in a more intentional, structured way, depending on what you’re bringing to the session.
